The following results were obtained. (1) The effect of mechanical polishing depends on the crystalline axis, and the order of effectiveness is as follows: (100)>(110)>(111) {<100>(001)}>{<110>(001)}>{<111>(011)} (2) The depth of the deformed surface layer (1\sim\2 \mu\m) increases with increase of the polishing-powder size. The magnetic properties are recovered after etching out the deformed layer.
