Abstract: Some experiments on hydrostatic compression have been carried out using the mixture of Fe powder and nonferrous metal powder. As a result, the modified Kawakita’s equation2)5) is shown to be well applicable to the relation between pressure and volume-reduction. The initial porosity and characteristic constant 1/b in the equation are found to relate the mixing ratio and size ratio of component powders. The fact cited above could be explainable in the sense of physical properties of powder. And these results support the physical measuring of constants in the equation given previously.
