Abstract: Until now, a method is shown of finishing the highly accurate external gear with lapping from experimental and theoretical point of view. The theoretical analysis are made under the condition of changing the fitting teeth only when all the teeth are in contact.In this paper, the other conditions are considered of changing the fitting teeth but the theoretical analyses are difficult under these conditions. So, the simulations are tried under the condition of changing the fitting teeth consist of “half the teeth are in contact”, “lapped amount is constant” and “the most suitable contact”. The initial accumulative pitch error curves are sine or random shape and lapping rations are 1:1 of 1:2. It is calculated the accumulative pitch error curves and their standard deviations every time of changing the fitting teeth at intervals for 20 times. Then the most suitable condition of lapping and the decreasing process of accumulative pitch error and their standard deviation became clear.
